Huabobo,a type of steamed bun,is a unique traditional food that is eaten on special occasionssuch as sacrificial rituals, celebrationsand traditional festivals, weddings and birthdays in Jiaodong area in Shandong.
Huabobo, literally meansflour flower, and refers to flower-shaped steamed buns. It is made of wheat flour, and thevarious vegetablesand fruit juices adddifferent colors to the buns. Huabobo is madeinto different shapes such as dragons,phoenix and fish, which represent positivemeanings, and look goodand taste delicious.
The craft of makingHuabobo has a history that dates backmore than 300 years,and was listed as a Shandong provincial intangible cultural heritage in 2009.Now it’s much easier to make it by machine. Huabobo not only has a pretty shape, but it is also easy to preserve.From the 20th day of the 12th month in the lunar calendar, people will steam a large number of Huabobo.In Shandong, huabobo is a symbol of the traditional Chinese New Year, representing good luck and people"s desire for a better life in the upcoming year.
花餑餑,是一種特別的饅頭。它是山東膠東地區(qū)特有的一種民間傳統(tǒng)美食,逢年過(guò)節(jié)、婚喪嫁娶等時(shí)候,人們都要蒸制花餑餑進(jìn)行祈福和紀(jì)念。
花餑餑,如同字面意思,就是一種以面粉為原料做成花朵形狀的饅頭。選擇優(yōu)質(zhì)小麥磨成面粉來(lái)和面、蒸制,再以新鮮的果蔬汁液做天然色素,讓花餑餑顏色鮮亮??梢宰龀苫铎`活現(xiàn)、有美好寓意的動(dòng)物,比如龍、鳳、魚等,不僅外形獨(dú)特,還筋道好吃。
花餑餑距今已有三百多年歷史,在2009年被列入山東省省級(jí)非物質(zhì)文化遺產(chǎn)名錄?,F(xiàn)在,有了機(jī)器,制作花餑餑更加簡(jiǎn)單?;G餑不僅外形靚麗,也非常便于保存。從農(nóng)歷的臘月二十起,各家就開(kāi)始蒸大餑餑了。過(guò)大年蒸餑餑是山東的年俗之一,寓意讓來(lái)年的日子“蒸蒸日上”。
